The Veeran Youth League Development League is not just a football competition – it is a carefully structured programme designed to develop complete footballers from the ground up. As Season 2 of the Development League reaches its midpoint, the results speak for themselves.
What is the Development League?
Unlike our competitive tournaments, the Development League is designed with a development-first philosophy. Every match, every training session, and every coach interaction is calibrated to maximise player growth rather than purely focus on results.
Key principles include:
- Equal playing time for all registered players
- Skill-focused feedback after every match from certified coaches
- Weekly theme-based training (e.g., Week 1: first touch, Week 2: defensive positioning)
- Parent education sessions to align home support with the programme's goals
Current Season Stats
The Development League this season has seen:
- 200+ players across U8, U10, and U12 categories
- Playing in 4 cities simultaneously
- Coached by 18 VYL-certified coaches
