In every great league, certain players rise above the rest – not just with their goals and assists, but with their character, their work ethic, and their passion for the beautiful game. This season, VYL has been blessed with extraordinary young talent across all age groups.
U10 Category Standout
One of the youngest and most exciting players this season operates in the U10 category. At just 9 years old, this midfielder has already demonstrated an understanding of space and movement that belies his age. His coaches note that he watches professional football matches analytically and applies what he learns on the training pitch.
Key stats this season: 7 goals, 11 assists, 100% match appearances.
U12 Category Standout
The U12 spotlight falls on a clinical striker whose ability to finish in tight spaces has made him the talk of the tournament. His secret? Endless hours of practice after official training sessions, working specifically on his weaker left foot – which is now arguably his stronger one.
Key stats this season: 14 goals in 12 appearances.
U14 Category Standout
The U14 category has been dominated by a defensive midfielder who breaks up play with precision and then distributes with the composure of a seasoned professional. Several coaches from other teams have privately admitted he is the opponent they fear most.
Key stats this season: 0 yellow cards, highest pass accuracy in the category (91%).
U16 Category Standout
Our U16 standout is a goalkeeper who has redefined what youth goalkeeping looks like. Beyond his shot-stopping, his ability to read the game and organise his defence has directly contributed to 8 clean sheets this season.
Key stats this season: 8 clean sheets, 34 saves, named captain of his team.
